"Birth of the Cool" is an album that collects the twelve sides recorded by the Miles Davis nonet (featuring Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz and others) for Capitol Records in 1949 and 1950. It brings a smile every time…
I’m up at our Tahoe/Donner house this weekend. Our neighbors across the way put something up on one of the lodge pole pines growing behind their place. Every time I walk by and look at it I smile.
