"Birth of the Cool" is an album that collects the twelve sides recorded by the Miles Davis nonet (featuring Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz and others) for Capitol Records in 1949 and 1950. The music is considered seminal. This blog is dedicated to that spirit -- keeping things "cool" by blog birthing. If you've got somethin' cool to share, blow on.

John Oliver on Trump (Drumph)
Everyone should take the time to watch this excerpt from John Oliver's HBO show, "Last Week Tonight." I can honestly say it is a masterful take-down of Donald Trump. Oh, and by the way it is absolutely hilarious.
I loved the Oliver piece! Very funny and very true (thus very sad, too). But, um, Jim? you think Trump is (a) honest? really? Have you checked out Politifact lately? (b) immune to money influence? Trump's whole life has been the pursuit of money - and attention (c) not "rollable"? Hell, Putin has already rolled him!. And (d) you think Obama is to blame for a soft US economy (one that is stronger than most of the developed world, by the way)? Perhaps you've forgotten about the regime of George W Bush (republican), who presided over the total collapse of our economy and the resulting Great Recession?
