"BAGHDAD, Iraq - A suicide truck bomber struck a market in a predominantly Shiite area of Baghdad on Saturday, killing as many as 121 people among the crowd buying food for evening meals, one of the most devastating attacks in the capital since the war started."What have we wrought? Each day I feel more and more shame.
"Birth of the Cool" is an album that collects the twelve sides recorded by the Miles Davis nonet (featuring Gerry Mulligan, Lee Konitz and others) for Capitol Records in 1949 and 1950. The music is considered seminal. This blog is dedicated to that spirit -- keeping things "cool" by blog birthing. If you've got somethin' cool to share, blow on.

It takes time to spread democracy, Tom. As soon as the 21,500 troops arrive, watch how the terrorists fear of democracy manifests itself. The more people they kill the more they express their fear. That's how we know we've got them right where we want them.
And this is not a punishable war crime? Time for Ted to start ranting.

Dear Tom:
It took me a line or two to discern that you were employing bitter and sardonic wit. I agree. 21,500 troops ain't gonna do squat, 'cept for taking casualties.
